Compass Course: Reconnecting with purpose in life wherever you are now.

An 8-session small group training that uses experiential learning in a problem-solving milieu to teach participants a framework for reconnecting with purpose in daily life after life and health transitions.

When and where: 6:00 – 8:00 pm Central, Wednesdays via Zoom starting October 21, 2026

Sessions 1 – 7: Weekly from Wednesday, October 21 – Wednesday, December 9, 2026

We do not meet on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (November 25) or during a one-month implementation period between Sessions 7 and 8.

Session 8: Wednesday, January 6, 2027

*During the last 30 minutes of each session, we will explore how to use purpose renewal concepts with clients (optional).

By the end of the Course, we hope you’ll learn to:

·      Understand the importance of purpose in life to health and well-being;

·      Describe the pillars of purpose: the inner Compass (values, strengths, sources of personal meaning) and daily purpose choices;

·      Specify your own preliminary purpose direction and plan;

·      Summarize practices and strategies to support purpose in daily life;

·      Incorporate purpose renewal concepts into therapeutic engagement with others.

Participants who complete all 8, 2-hour sessions will receive access to the Compass Course Guidebook and Facilitator’s Manual for their own use in clinical or coaching practice. Participants will receive up to 16 contact hours towards professional continuing education.
